Description

This heavy silver flask is beautifully crafted, with lovely stamp work on both sides and the top. Well-known Zuni silversmiths Yelmo and Betty Natachu created the wonderful inlaid knifewing figure which is the centerpiece of this flask. The figure is set with #8 turquoise, abalone shell, mother of pearl and jet. A nice patina graces the entire flask.

Often worn around the neck with a leather strap, the Native Americans would fill the flask with Tobacco. Over the years the flasks became more ornate as the trade increased with tourists. The flask measures 4 1/4" tall x 2 3/4" wide.
