Victor Coochwytewa (1922-2011) was one of three Native American elders
chosen as Arizona Indian Living Treasures at the seventh annual AILTA award
ceremony held in Phoenix in September 1994. This recognition is but one of the
many accolades bestowed upon the Master Hopi Jeweler in a career spanning more
than half a century. Decorated World War II Veteran. Victor retired from Hopi Silversmithing and his beloved farming in 2006. He continued living with his family at Hopi. Victor passed away at the age of 89 on July 3, 2011. An accomplished master Hopi jeweler and a humble man. Victor's work is not only amazing but highly collectable.
This wonderful cuff displays the fine detail work found with all of Victors overlay designs. There is no matting, indicating his earlier work. A soft patina graces the front of the bracelet, with a deep patina on the interior. Hallmark with Victors (Rain Cloud) and also his initials VC.
It measures 1 7/16" wide. Interior is 5 3/4" with a 1 3/8" opening. Can be adjusted.
