This beautiful Thunderbird figure is Zuni work. Set with materials of turquoise, jet, Mother of Pearl and abalone shell. This lovely bolo offers a distinct inlay design of a Thunderbird, with wonderful silver work. The quality workmanship in this piece, lends itself to being early work by a master. A deep patina graces the entire piece, with the back having a heavy patina. It appears it originally had the silver bar back, but a Bennett back was added later.
It measures 2 7/8" tall by 2" wide. The tips are 2 5/8". The black leather strap is 40" total length, including the tips. Not hallmarked which was common on early Zuni work.
