Gem grade Morenci turquoise set in sterling silver and hand crafted by Navajo artist, Darryl Dean Begay. This outstanding bolo features a tufa cast Fleur-de-lis design. Soft textures and fine detail are the perfect presentation for the amazing blue and pyrite in this stone. The bolo measures 3" by 2 1/4". The Gem grade Morenci stone measures 1 5/8" by 7/8". The black leather is 46" total length, with adjustment available on length. Tips are 3" long. Just an outstanding one-of-a-kind piece!
Born on the Navajo Reservation, Darryl Dean Begay was raised in the traditional Navajo way of life. He is from a family of artists; his grandmother was a weaver and his grandfather a ceremonial sandpainter. It is from this background that his art emerges, creating one-of-a-kind, limited edition jewelry pieces in sterling silver and gold.
He
has exhibited his work and won awards at many shows, including the
Santa Fe Indian Market, the Heard Museum Market, Pueblo Grande Indian
Market, the Wheelwright Museum, and the Eight Northern Pueblos Show. Darryl has become one of the most recognized Navajo artists of his time!
