This unique round bracelet is the work of well-known Zuni artists Dexter and Rosemary Cellicion. It depicts Saiyatasha the one-horned katsina, Rain Priest of the North, who is the foremost figure in the Shalako ceremony, where he makes his only appearance.
Set with materials of turquoise, jet, clam shell, Zuni stone and abalone shell. This lovely piece offers the vast talents of the Cellicions, with his distinct channel inlay design, which often features his teardrop shaped feathers and setting of Zuni Katsina figures. The outstanding silver work on both the stamped and filed beaded spine of the bracelet shank adds the final touch to this amazing piece. It measures 2 1/8" wide, with the central figure measuring 1 3/4" in diameter. The interior measures 5 1/2" with a 1" opening. There is some visible wear on the silver rope wire frame surrounding the central figure, but the integrity of the stones are in great condition.
