Not enough can be said about Hopi artist Don Supplee.
His jewelry has earned him many awards across the Globe. He was born in Ganado,
AZ in 1965. His family then moved to Flagstaff, AZ, where both of his parents
were teachers. Don eventually moved to Phoenix, to pursue his goal as a chef.
After observing his brother Charles create beautiful jewelry,
he decided to apprentice with Charles and learn the art of making jewelry. He
worked for Gene Waddell for a period of time and sold his first piece of jewelry in
1992. Sense then he has been creating beautiful jewelry in gold and silver and
only uses the finest materials in his pieces. He is an exceptional craftsman
with a natural eye for design and beauty, always keeping in mind his
traditional Hopi upbringing.
This stunning buckle set of 14k gold, is set with vivid blue, natural high grade spider webbed turquoise, with raised carved black jet in the buckle and flat set turquoise and jet in the keepers and end tip. The custom-made alligator leather belt was made in Cody Wyoming and is 1 1/4" wide and 40" long. It is tooled on both sides.
The buckle measures 2 1/4" wide by 2 3/4" tall, with the keeper measuring 1" wide. The end measures 1 1/2" long. The buckle will hold a 1" belt. Hallmarked with his small flute player Supplee, 14k.
