Description

This wonderful ingot, Navajo bracelet c.1930's, is masterfully set with 7 natural turquoise stones, that have a wonderfully aged color change. The stones are hand cut and set in heavy bezels. This bracelet has hand hammered ingot and has very fine detailed stamp work along the sides. The Whirling Log (swastika) is a very old (1890-1940) symbol used by the Navajo and other tribes that predates the negative use of the symbol. It represented the four directions in the tribal beliefs. In February 1940, the tribes banned the use of the symbol.

The bracelet measures 5/8" top center, tapering to 1/2" wide at the bottom terminals. The inside measures 5 3/4" with a 1 1/8" opening. The weight is 47 grams. Not hallmark which was common during this era.
