Artist Frances Pino Torivio (1905-2001) was one of the
important revivalist’s matriarchs of Acoma Pueblo. She made large pottery jars
in the prime of her life and was known for her beautiful Nativity scenes. She attending
the Santa Fe Indian Market in 2001 at the age of 96, and was displaying
her beautiful smaller pieces of pottery. She taught both her daughters, Lilly
Salvador and Wanda Aragon to make pottery and also Edna Chino and was
influential in teaching other potters in the 70’s. She stayed with the traditional firing techniques
and designs.

measures 3 3/4” tall by 4” diameter. Hallmarked and in good condition.
