This fabulous bracelet is the work of well-known Hopi artist
Morris Robinson. Morris Robinson (Talawytewa) was born at Oraibi. He began his
career in Phoenix AZ in the early 1920's and continued his silversmithing,
until retiring in 1963. He working at several different Indian Jewelry stores
in Arizona, where his pieces became highly desired by collectors. He used his
personally crafted stamps, creating intricate and amazing designs.
This
gorgeous cuff offers the best of Morris Robinson's amazing abilities as an
artist and also a vintage piece of history. The cuff is set with 3 beautiful
Natural webbed #8 turquoise stones and has the most beautiful stamp work
design and low repousse on the sides and bottom terminals. Nice and heavy!
The
center of the cuff measures 1 9/16" wide, tapering to 3/4" at bottom
terminals. The inside measures 5 3/8" with a 7/8" opening. Slightly
adjustable. The cuff is hallmarked with Morris's snake and a messed up H. Excellent
condition.
