Description

Isabel was born in 1933 and was weaving by the 1940's. She wove Two Grey Hills style for nearly 20 years. Her first pictorial was woven in 1973. She soon became the matriarch of the "Many Farms pictorial style rugs" Hand spun wool in natural, vegetal, and aniline dyes. Isabel left behind a legacy of her Traditional style Navajo Pictorial weavings.

This lovely award winning rug has been well kept and has no fading on either side. It is in excellent condition. Created in the mid 1970's. She won this First Place ribbon in 1975 at the Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial. It has all the elements you will find in a well woven Pictorial rug, with Monument Valley in the background, a man on horseback, women cooking over open fire, hogan, sheep, cattle and off in the distance a person in a canoe. It measures 37" long by 20 1/2" wide.
