Description

This huge Navajo made bracelet is set with a huge natural #8 Turquoise stone. The original owner was #8 mine owner J.W. Edgar. The bracelet along with a large #8 nugget (also on our website) was sold or traded to the owners of McGee's Indian Den. Sometime along the way Trader Dennis June (Dennis June's Gallery in Scottsdale, AZ) acquired it from his father and now it is in our hands. The stone is set in a smooth bezel with a silver twist wire framing the natural shape of the stone.

The center stone measures 3 1/2" tall by 3 1/4" wide, with a graduated high dome, approx. 3/8" thick. The approximate weight of the stone is 700 carats. The weight of the bracelet is 212 grams. This material was mined between the late 1920's into the late 1950's. Lee Hand and J.W. Edgar were partners in mining this grade #8 turquoise, which was located in Eureka County, Nevada.

The inside measures 6 3/8" with a 1" opening. Slightly adjustable. There is no hallmark on this piece, which was common during this early time period.
