Description

This lovely double strand Pueblo necklace features 320 grams of Natural Fox turquoise, graduated nuggets with Santo Domingo Cowrie shell heishi. 2 beautiful Fox turquoise Jacla's accompany the necklace. It is just beautiful on! The tab necklace is 30" long total length with the addition of 4 3/4" long jacla's. The 2 center large nuggets are approx. 1 3/4" long by 3/4" wide. A traditional wrap adds the final touch to this great necklace!

This style of beadwork is thought to be the oldest form of jewelry from New Mexico and is still practiced today mostly among Native Americans of the Santo Domingo (Kewa) and San Felipe Pueblos. These necklaces have been worn for decades by many different tribes. It predates the metalworking and lapidary techniques practiced by the Navajo, Hopi and Zuni, which were introduced by Europeans.

This necklace is all Native American hand crafted and is not foreign made, dyed or treated heishi from overseas.
