This lovely concho belt was handcrafted by well-know Navajo artist Charlie Yazzie. He began his career in jewelry in 1950's and worked for Atkinson Trading in Gallup. This belt was purchased in 1974 from Atkinson's. His speciality was beautiful concho belts. His design is an overly style with a cluster of high grade Lone Mountain nuggets centered in each concho. Very clean and precise stamp work graces the outer edge. A nice heavy weight silver was always used on his belts.
The 9 concho's measure 3" by 2 3/8" with the buckle measuring 3 1/2" by 2 3.4". A beautiful soft patina adds the final touch to this lovey concho belt. Hallmark C.M. Yazzie.
