A stunning squash blossom necklace by Navajo silversmith Fred Peshlakai. c: (1896 - 1972). The lovely necklace, so reminds us of the squash blossoms crafted by Freds father, Slender Maker who was widely respected as the first great master among Navajo silversmiths. He was active from the 1870's into 1910's. D: 1916. Fred learned at an early age from his father and went on to become a master silversmith himself. This beautiful classic squash blossom necklace offers beautiful crafting of silver, with a deep smooth patina. The center piece is a beautiful carinated naja with fine stamp work at the bottom of the center ornament. Hallmarked with his FP centered on his arrow.


Each of the 8 blossoms measure 1 1/4" from end to end. The Naja measures 2 3/8" tall by 2 1/8" wide. The total length of the bead portion is 22" long. Circa is estimated to be in the 1940's. This necklace of Fred's offers a vintage piece of history.
