This pretty earring pair was handcrafted by well-known Hopi artist Lewis Lomay. c: (1913-1996). He began his career in jewelry in 1930's and worked for a long period of time with Frank Patania Sr. in Santa Fe NM. His designs were both traditional Hopi with a touch of European influence at times. His work is highly collectable, as well it should be. Hallmarked with LOMAY SILVER Santa Fe, with his Snake. This hallmark was used during his time working with Frank Patania at the Thunderbird Shop in Santa Fe, from 1927 into the early 1960's.
The lovely Hopi design along with a soft patina on the silver adds to the beauty of this earring pair. Hallmarked with his snake.
They measure 1 5/8" long by 5/8" wide, not including the silver french wires.
