This rough (not for cabbing) specimen material is from the family of William
Lucky Brown, who mined and contracted the Morenci turquoise from the mid 1930’s
to 1984. It is solid Natural material that features many of the characteristics
often found in Morenci turquoise. You might see quartz (whitish crystal like)
material, Kaolin (more grayish) material, Hematite (black areas), Pyrite (shiny
fool’s gold) flecks mixed in with the hematite and pyrite areas in the mother
rock or darker matrix. The specimens we offer are 100% natural. Very clean
material with all the beautiful characteristics of the Morenci turquoise. This piece is a solid thin vein (2.5mm) with mother rock behind. Stands up on its own.
The weight is 532 grams. The size is approx. 5.5” tall x 1.38” thick x 4.15” wide.
Note: 1st picture is taken inside under natural light and is wet. 2nd picture is taken outside in sunlight and material is dry.
