Created by Master Zuni artist Dan Simplicio, this lovely necklace is set with a beautifully carved natural Manassa turquoise stone. This lovely piece offers the best of Simplicio's work and shows his diversity in leaves he crafted over the years. A smooth bezel tightly frames the contours of the carved stone, with a raindrop at the top. A very similar style of work by Dan can be found in the C.G. Wallace Collection of American Indian Art (Sotheby's Auction Catalogue), page 156, item 954. A nicely made silver bead necklace holds the center piece and has a soft even patina on the silver. The necklace measures 19" long. The rare carved leaf measures 2 1/8" tall by 1" wide and sets 3/8" high in the bezel. Absolutely beautiful on!
