Description

This rare and unusual Princes collar necklace set was hand fabricated by the Lt. Governor of Zuni, silversmith Pesancio Lasiloo. It is set with 169 hand-cut natural, turquoise stones that are carefully set in fine sawtooth bezels, with an amazingly beautiful open silver design throughout the set. He was well respected in Zuni and served as Lt. Governor in the early 1990's. He was also one of 6 delegates that help with the return of two of the sacred Zuni War Gods back to Zuni, that had been in a museum for decades. His work is rarely seen, and this beautiful set is quite special. This wonderful set will be published in the come book, Navajo and Pueblo Jewelry Design (1945-now), by Paula Baxter.

The center portion measures 4 5/8" long by 1 1/2" wide with the 2 side portions measuring 4" long by 1 1/2" wide. The total necklace length measures 20" long, which includes a handmade link chain that allows for your desired length. The post earrings are 2 1/4" long by 1" wide. The ring is 1 1/4" long by 1" wide and is a size 8 1/2. This necklace dated to the 1960's/70's and has his etched hallmark, P. & E. L. Zuni N Mexi. We are not certain who the E. stands for at this time. The design and exquisite work could only be done by a master artist. Absolutely beautiful on. Thus, we call it a Princes necklace!
