Description

This rare David Tsikewa bolo tie Circa: 1950's. Set with beautiful Natural turquoise, abalone shell, mother of pearl and jet. Unique silver work and matching tips add the final touches to this bolo tie.

David Tsikewa was a renowned Zuni fetish carver that was active from the 1930's through the 1970's. For most of his career he worked with CG Wallace and later with Trader Leon Ingraham. It is said that David Tsikewa and Leekya Deyuse were Wallace's two favorite carvers. David also did inlay, but not near and much as his carvings. His mosaic inlay is very precise and beautifully done!

The bolo measures 2 1/8" tall by 1 3/4" wide. The total length is 35" long, including the wonderful 2 3/8" matching tips. Not hallmarked, which was common on early Zuni.
