Joe Herrera Quintana (1915-1991) is considered by many to be one of the true master silversmiths of the 20th century. Learning metal work during WWII, after the war he returned to his home in the Cochiti Pueblo and began his career in jewelry making. He apprenticed with well-known jeweler Frank Patania and worked in a number of shops in both Santa Fe and Albuquerque NM.
