This stunning vintage 1940's/50's Zuni necklace is inlaid with natural turquoise, jet, mother of pearl and orange/red Abalone shell. The age, precise workmanship and style of the design lends itself to the early Masters of Zuni inlay artists, such as Lee Edaakie, Oliver Cellicion, Teddy Weahkee. It features 4 rainbowman, and a beautifully designed Knifewing naja. The necklace is assembled on double silver beads. This necklace is absolutely beautiful!
Many of the early Zuni jewelers worked for Trader C.G. Wallace, starting in the late 1920's. Similar work is found in the C.G. Wallace 1975 auction catalog.
The beautiful necklace measures, 34" long, including the large 5 1/4" x 3 3/4" knifewing naja. The rainbowman components measure 3 1/2" by 2 1/4". Not hallmarked.
