This vintage Hopi-Tewa redware low bowl was hand crafted with native clay and has the traditional slips and paints used during this era. A wonderful design graces the center of the bowl. There is not enough noted design elements to attribute it to a given maker. Unsigned.
This lovely low bowl measures 6" diameter by 1 3/4" tall. The circa has been dated on the back to 1930. The numbers on the back are most likely a museum de-acquisition, date when made and inventory numbers. It is in good condition with minor paint loss in the center of the bowl. No cracks or chips.
